Dr. Sona Isharani is a board-certified pediatric dentist, and a mother. She is known for providing quality, nurturing, gentle, dental care. Her commitment to her patients is evident in her popularity with both children and parents.
Patient education is an important aspect of Dr. Sona’s practice. This includes advising parents, as well as guiding children to engage in their own oral care. She understands the uncertainty that parents face when confronted with health issues, and she ensures that they never feel alone when it comes to their child’s oral health.
Educational and professional background
Dr. Sona attended University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where she completed undergraduate and graduate studies and received her dental degree. She received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from University of Maryland. Dr. Sona went above and beyond by completing a Fellowship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Her expertise includes early infant oral dental care, exams, and prevention, including behavioral management of the child dental patient.

Out of the office
When away from the office, Dr. Sona is busy with her own favorite reason to smile – her daughter, Sophie. In her precious free time, she enjoys reading, meditating, traveling, physical fitness, and spending time with family and friends. She is also a dedicated community leader and volunteer, participating in events such as Christina Smiles, which delivers dental care to children in need at no charge.
Bethany is our office administrator and, most recently, a dental assistant. Her background is in interior architecture; however, she has fallen in love with the rewarding work of helping children smile. She enjoys getting to know our patients, and watching little smiles grow up. She has a young daughter that helps her relate to the moms and dads that come through the office. She considers herself the HUB of our pediatric dental team. She is committed to helping create a friendly and home-like environment where families will genuinely feel welcome.
Natalie is our knowledgeable and efficient office manager. She has over two decades of experience, and has developed a wonderful rapport with our patients and their families. She has a young grandson and absolutely loves seeing all the little ones come in and watch them grow from visit to visit.
Brittiny is a dental assistant and native of Mooresville NC. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She then went on to Wake Tech in Raleigh where she completed their Dental Assisting Program and earned her CDA in 2010. Brittiny is a mother, and when out of the office she enjoys spending quality time with her daughter. She also is planning the wedding of her dreams and enjoys quality time with the rest of her family and friends.
Ann is a skilled dental assistant and dedicated advocate of oral health. She has 25 years of experience in the medical field, and has worked with Dr. Sona since 2012. Ann enjoys helping children develop and maintain healthy smiles and great hygiene habits. She enjoys working with advanced dental technology to provide the highest level of care possible. When she is not in the office she is an avid part of her grandsons’ lives and enjoys doing fun things with them.
Jordana was born and raised in Mexico City, She moved here in the year 2000 and has been calling North Carolina home since then, She graduated High School in 2005 and attended Wake Technical Community College where she obtained her CDA.
She enjoys reading, music, movies and travel. She has a very Perky Personality and her favorite thing to do is make people smile.
She has enjoyed working with this wonderful team and looking forward to help patients maintain good oral health.
She has a wonderful 7 year old that is her world and when treating children she is very patient and kind. Enjoys being part of kids good oral health habits!!
Erin was born and raised in Winston-Salem. She graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in 2009 and obtained her dental assistant degree at Guilford Technical Community College in 2015. When she is not volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her fur baby Rigley. She loves being outdoors and hopes to travel the world someday. Erin has a bubbly personality and the kids really love her!
Tina has been a dental assistant since 1995. Her and her husband Rob both love and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. Tina enjoys working alongside Dr. Sona and her dental family. She enjoys working with children and providing them with optimal care. She loves to hear children tell their stories as they are funny and insightful.
Dr. Dillon Atwood is our general anesthesiologist when we do cases in our office. He is one of two Board Certified Dentist Anesthesiologists in North Carolina, and is a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He studied at Davidson College and attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry before completing his postgraduate training in Anesthesiology at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City. During that time he practiced pediatric anesthesia in Arizona and special care anesthesia at Helen Hayes Hospital in New York. He works with Triad Pediatric Dentistry to provide in-office general anesthesia and sedation services to our patients. These services help us to provide any level of anesthetic care that our patients need, while putting patient safety and comfort first.
