First visits

We believe that your infant’s first birthday is the perfect time to start bringing them into our office. This falls in line with the guidelines of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. You might not be aware, but your child’s first teeth could begin coming in as early as 6 months. It is typical for the bottom incisors to arrive first, followed by the top incisors. By the time your baby is 3 years old, all 20 baby teeth are likely to have surfaced. You may think these temporary teeth won’t have any impact on the permanent teeth that will eventually replace them, but this is not true. Your child’s baby teeth are placeholders for the permanent teeth and the health of baby teeth directly impact the health of the permanent teeth that will replace them one day. Therefore, treatment starting at one year of age is very important.
